The earlier 60HE, now cheaper

Wooting's 1000 Hz 60% with Lekker L60 switches, an ABS case and a steel plate. Reviewers rate its performance and build, and fault the fixed 6 degree angle and 1000 Hz polling.

Hall effect Rapid Trigger 60% Lekker L60s switches 1 kHz

Our take, based on research

A proven competitive 60% with strong software and warranty. Look at the 60HE v2 only if you need 8 kHz polling.

Overview

The 60HE+ is the screw-in-stabilizer update to Wooting's original 60HE, and Wooting still sells it alongside the newer 60HE v2. Per Wooting's page it uses Lekker L60s Hall-effect switches and a steel switch plate, and TechGearLab confirms the switches and keycaps are hot-swappable. It also has plate-mount stabilizers (screw-in supported), a 2 m USB-C to USB-A nylon cable, and PBT, ABS or dye-sub keycap options. It weighs 605 g, measures 30.2 x 11.6 x 3.8 cm and sits at a fixed 6 degrees. Up to four profiles are saved on the board, and Wooting gives a four-year warranty excluding the LEDs.

Tom's Guide called it one of the most responsive and customizable boards available, noting an ABS case that still looks and feels premium, bright per-key RGB saved to 8 MB of memory, and PBT keycaps that suited typing as well as gaming. It wanted wireless and an adjustable height. TechGearLab measured about 2 ms single-key latency, found no chord splitting, and named it a top pick among 60% gaming keyboards; its marks against it were the 1000 Hz polling and scan rate, a tall standard profile that wants a palm rest, a fixed 6 degree angle and a high price.

The comparison that matters inside Wooting's range is the 60HE v2, which per Wooting's page adds true 8 kHz polling, an FR4 plate, Lekker Tikken switches and an optional aluminum case. Pick the 60HE+ for a proven 60% with a steel plate and the screw-in stabilizers, or the v2 for 8 kHz.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • Strong measured latency (about 2 ms in TechGearLab) and a deep feature set in Wootility
  • Four onboard profiles and four-year warranty (excluding the LEDs)

  • Light and portable at 605 g
  • Per-key actuation in 0.1 mm steps, Rapid Trigger, Rappy Snappy and Snappy Tappy
What Could Be Better
  • 1000 Hz polling and scan rate; the 60HE v2 is 8 kHz (TechGearLab, Wooting)
  • Fixed 6 degree angle with no feet (TechGearLab, Tom's Guide)
  • Standard-height profile that wants a palm rest, which is sold separately
  • Wired only (Tom's Guide)
