The wireless full-size kit

The wireless M5: a 108-key aluminum full-size kit with gasket mount, tri-mode connectivity and a 6,000 mAh battery. MonsGeek lists it as discontinued.

Full size Tri-mode Aluminum Gasket

Our take, based on research

A heavy, well-built wireless full-size that MonsGeek no longer sells. The evidence is the maker's page plus one forum review.

Overview

The M5W is the tri-mode full-size in MonsGeek's earlier M series. MonsGeek lists gasket mount, a CNC aluminum case of about 2.5 kg barebone, 5-pin hot-swap sockets, USB-C, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, a 6,000 mAh battery and MonsGeek's own driver; QMK/VIA is not supported. The page carries a discontinued notice and points to the M2 V5 VIA and Mineral 02 VIA.

A GeekHack forum user's detailed review calls it very heavy and well made, with a perfect anodized finish on the unit, pre-lubed clip-in stabilizers that did not rattle plus a spare set of screw-in stabilizers, and an acrylic plate with south-facing sockets that the reviewer would have swapped for metal. The software was described as a little confusing at first but bug-free and better than most. Wired, dongle and Bluetooth modes all worked for the reviewer. The big complaint is that the mode switch is under the caps key, which means pulling a keycap and risking unseating it. This is one individual's report, not a lab test.

Because it is discontinued, it is mostly relevant for remaining stock or the used market.
