Our take, based on research

A rare numpad board with magnetic switches and a metal case, but there is only the maker's own material to go on.

Overview

The M2 V5 HE is the magnetic version of the compact full-size. MonsGeek lists a CNC aluminum case up to 2.16 kg, 98 keys with a numpad, ball-catch quick-release, gasket mount, 8,000 Hz polling over USB and 2.4GHz, Rapid Trigger precision to 0.005 mm, tri-mode connection with an 8,000 mAh battery and the MonsGeek V4 driver on Windows or the web. It accepts seven third-party N-pole-down magnetic switches as well as Akko's AstroAim and AstroLink, and MonsGeek states it does NOT support mechanical switches. MonsGeek describes an upgraded five-layer noise-reduction system and compares the AstroAim (firm yet responsive) and AstroLink (higher-pitched, more mechanical) in a stock sound test.

No independent review was found, so its feel and sound rest on the maker's sound test and spec sheet. It occupies a niche: a numpad board with Rapid Trigger and a metal case.

It is heavier than the M1 V5 HE (up to 2.16 kg against 1.83 kg) and has a numpad where that board has a knob.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • Numpad layout with Rapid Trigger in a 98-key aluminum case
  • 8,000 Hz polling over USB and 2.4GHz (maker)
  • Rapid Trigger precision to 0.005 mm with adjustable actuation
  • Tri-mode with an 8,000 mAh battery
  • Supports AstroAim and AstroLink switches plus other N-pole-down magnetic switches
What Could Be Better
  • Up to 2.16 kg, so it is a desk-only board
  • No independent review found
  • Magnetic switches only; mechanical switches are not supported
  • MonsGeek's own sound test is the only sound evidence
  • Configuration is through MonsGeek's driver, not VIA
