Wireless 80% Hall-effect board with Rapid Trigger

The K8 HE is the 80% Hall-effect Keychron: aluminum tray mount, 2.4 GHz, Rapid Trigger and about 1185 g. Windows Central found it beautiful and well-balanced but limited to Hall-effect switches and a short cable for software.

TKL layout Tri-mode Hot-swap QMK/VIA Hall effect

Our take, based on research

A well-regarded TKL Hall-effect board. Choose the K8 Max if you want ordinary switches.

Overview

The K8 HE is the tenkeyless version of Keychron's Hall-effect line. The page lists 2.4 GHz plus Bluetooth plus wired, 1000 Hz polling, Gateron Double-Rail magnetic Nebula switches that are hot-swappable, an aluminum tray-mount case, shine-through Cherry-profile double-shot keycaps, a 4000 mAh battery rated up to 110 hours, a weight of about 1185 g and a Special Edition that is slightly longer. Keychron says the board is only compatible with those Gateron magnetic switches.

Windows Central called it functionally the same as the 96% K4 HE in an 80% layout, praising its design, typing and gaming experience and multiple ways to connect. Its reasons to avoid were that you are still limited to Hall-effect switches and that the software only works with a too-short cable. It also said it was not quite enough to pull the reviewer away from a Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro 75%.

Compared with the K8 Max, it swaps a lot of switch choice for adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger.
