Wired full-size with 8000Hz polling and no knob

A wired full-size with up to 8000Hz polling, OSA keycaps and Launcher. SemiPro Tech+Gear called it strong value; keycaps feel thin and there is no knob. Also covers the C2 and C2 Pro.

Our take, based on research

A good-value wired full-size, backed by SemiPro's review and a Notebookcheck review of the TKL version.

Overview

The C2 Pro 8K is the full-size version of the 8000Hz C1 Pro. Keychron's page lists a plastic tray-mount body, Super or Apex switches, OSA-profile double-shot PBT keycaps that are not shine-through, an AT32F405 MCU and 975 g. SemiPro Tech+Gear reviewed it and liked the 8000Hz polling, the Launcher customization and the improved Keychron switches; its notes were that the keycaps feel a little light and thin, there is no knob, and it supports 3-pin and 5-pin switches with lubed plate-mount stabilizers. Notebookcheck's review of the C1 Pro 8K, which it described as identical but smaller, adds that the tray mount is stiff and the stabilizers sound clean, and it hit firmware-update trouble.

Versions: this page also covers the C2 and C2 Pro, Keychron's earlier wired full-size boards on the same retro plastic tray-mount design. Per Keychron's pages, the original C2 polls at 1000 Hz with no QMK/VIA or software, uses Gateron G Pro or Keychron mechanical switches with optional hot-swap and double-shot ABS keycaps, and weighs about 829 g. The C2 Pro adds QMK/VIA with the Launcher, K Pro switches and OEM-profile double-shot PBT keycaps at 1000 Hz and 874 g. The C2 Pro 8K moves to 8000 Hz polling, Super or Apex switches and OSA-profile keycaps.
