The updated Wooting 80% with Tikken switches and an FR4 plate
An 80% Hall effect keyboard that updates the 80HE with Lekker Tikken Medium switches, an FR4 plate and extra dampening. Wooting offers ABS or zinc cases, a large knob on zinc prebuilts and a split spacebar on the module. No independent review of the 80HE+ was found.
An incremental update to a well-reviewed board, with Wooting's own sources the main evidence so far. Pick it over the 80HE for Tikken switches, the FR4 plate and the knob or split spacebar; wait for independent reviews if sound and feel decide the purchase.
Wooting announced the 80HE+ in September 2026 as an update to the 80HE, with pre-orders from 17 September and shipping from mid-October, according to TechPowerUp and PC Gamer. Wooting's page lists Lekker Tikken Medium switches with full 4 mm travel, an FR4 plate, a silicone gasket mount, screw-in stabilizers and thick doubleshot PBT OEM-profile keycaps. Dampening is bottom-case foam, PET film and a tape mod, and three sets of silicone feet give 2.8, 6 and 10 degrees. Polling is true 8 kHz as on the 80HE, with an LED bar, four onboard profiles and a four-year warranty (two for the LEDs). It comes in ABS (Dark, Frost) or zinc (Black), in ANSI and ISO only, and the zinc prebuilt ships with the Lekker Knob Large. A split spacebar is offered only with the separate 80HE+ module.
Wooting's own comparison post says the 80HE+ is an update, not a different keyboard, and that 80HE owners have little reason to upgrade except for the split spacebar, and that fitting Lekker Tikken switches to an existing 80HE would have the biggest effect on feel.
No independent review of the 80HE+ was found as of 18 October 2026. PC Gamer's announcement coverage said it expects a wonderful typing experience, based on its reviewer's liking of the same Tikken switches in the 60HE v2; that is an expectation, not a test. Reviews of the original 80HE (Tom's Guide, WIRED, PCWorld, PC Gamer) describe the earlier version. They praise its software and 8 kHz option, and note it is wired only, with a non-standard layout, and that PC Gamer found chassis flex on the ABS case.
