MonsGeek M7

Released 2023

Researched from maker specs and published sources. Last checked Oct 18, 2026.

The wired 65% kit

A wired aluminum 65% barebone kit with gasket mount, a clear polycarbonate plate and VIA. The plainer, cheaper sibling of the wireless M7W.

65% Aluminum Gasket VIA

Our take, based on research

A straightforward aluminum 65% kit for VIA users. Evidence is limited to the maker's page and a review of its Alice sibling.

Overview

The M7 is MonsGeek's standard-layout 65% kit: 68 keys, a CNC aluminum case, gasket mount, a transparent polycarbonate plate, Poron plate foam, extra case foam, 5-pin hot-swap sockets and a south-facing PCB. It ships with plate-mounted stabilizers fitted plus a spare set of screw-in stabilizers. It is wired and uses VIA; MonsGeek's page says QMK certification was still in progress and the source code would follow. Switches and keycaps are not included.

No standalone review of the M7 was found. The closest independent evidence is ThePhonograph's review of the M6, which shares the same aluminum gasket construction, polycarbonate plate and foam stack, and rated that build very highly. Treat the M7's sound and feel as likely similar but unverified.

The M7W is the same shape with Bluetooth and 2.4GHz, a battery and MonsGeek's own driver rather than VIA. The M7 is the one for VIA users who do not need wireless.

Pros & Cons

Strengths

  • VIA support for remapping and RGB
  • Plate-mounted stabilizers fitted, plus a spare screw-in set
  • Poron plate foam and extra case foam in the box
  • 5-pin hot-swap sockets that also accept 3-pin switches
What Could Be Better
  • Wired only
  • Barebone: switches and keycaps are separate
  • No independent review of this exact model found
  • QMK certification was still pending at the time MonsGeek wrote the page
  • Heavy aluminum build, not a travel board
