Logitech's low-profile wireless full-size for multi-device offices

A wireless, full-size low-profile mechanical board with Kailh Choc V2 switches in three flavors, smart backlighting and Easy-Switch for three devices. Reviewers praise the connectivity and battery; How-To Geek disliked the typing feel, and PCMag notes the switches cannot be swapped.

Low profile Full size with numpad Logi Bolt + Bluetooth Easy-Switch for 3 devices Smart backlight USB-C charging

Our take, based on research

A polished productivity board whose strengths are connectivity, battery and smart lighting. Reviewers disagree on typing feel, so try the tactile quiet version if you can and skip it if you want hot-swap or macros.

Overview

The MX Mechanical is Logitech's full-size, low-profile wireless board, aimed at office and productivity use rather than gaming. Logitech's support page lists a 828 g body of plastic and aluminum, Logi Bolt and Bluetooth Low Energy connections, white backlighting, 1.3 mm actuation, 55 g actuation force and a 1,500 mAh battery rated for 15 days with backlight on or 10 months without. Tom's Hardware, PCMag and Macworld all report Kailh Choc V2 switches in tactile quiet (brown), clicky (blue) or linear (red) versions, fixed at purchase, with an aluminum top plate over a plastic case. Opinions on feel split. Tom's Hardware called the typing experience great and the software fantastic. PCMag found the typing feel excellent and not too noisy, and called the board a winner for office workers. Macworld liked the tactile switches and found minimal key wobble. How-To Geek was the outlier: it reported rigid switches, shaky stabilizers and off-kilter keycaps that led to typos, some deck flex, and a Logi Options+ keys tab that allows only 24 remappable keys. The practical points are consistent. Tom's Hardware warned that the low profile rules out standard wrist rests. PCMag noted the USB-C cable is charge-only and that, unlike a Razer rival it compared the board with, it ships without a wrist rest. Macworld said Options+ has no macro programming. The sibling MX Mechanical Mini drops the number pad. This is a board for Logi Flow users and people who switch between a Mac, PC and tablet more than for anyone who wants to customize the keys or switches.
