Keychron V7

Released 2022

Researched from maker specs and published sources. Last checked Oct 18, 2026.

Wired 70% with a steel plate, tray mount and no knob

A wired 70% in ABS plastic with a steel plate and tray mount. Independent coverage is thin; Keychron's specs and sibling V-line reviews are the evidence.

70% layout Wired Hot-swap QMK/VIA

Our take, based on research

A plain wired 70% in the V mold. Evidence for this model is thin, so it rests on the maker's specs and the V4 review; consider the V2 Max or V8 Max if you want wireless.

Overview

The V7 is the 70% model in the original V line, between the 65% V2 and the 75% V1. Keychron's spec page lists an ABS plastic case with a tray mount and steel plate, hot-swap sockets for 3-pin and 5-pin switches, screw-in PCB stabilizers, south-facing RGB, K Pro switches and double-shot OSA PBT keycaps. It is wired (USB-C, 1000Hz), runs QMK with the Launcher web app, and is listed at 845 g and 341.85 x 117 mm. Keychron's page lists ANSI only and does not mention a knob.

Peter Mortensen's overview of the V series places the V7 at 70% with two Fn keys. Expert Reviews described the V line in general terms, praising the steel-plated build and the typing action and noting the high profile and missing wrist rest, based on the V4.

This entry has weak evidence. No review of the V7 itself could be opened, so the notes here apply the V-line findings from the V4 and the maker's specs. Treat it as a firm, plain wired board and look for owner reports before buying.

Pros & Cons

Strengths

  • Includes both Mac and Windows keycaps in the assembled version

What Could Be Better
  • Wired only
  • No independent review of the V7 itself was found
  • The V line sits high off the desk and has no wrist rest (Expert Reviews, on the V4)
