Our take, based on research

A wired full-size with 8000Hz and a firm tray-mount feel. Evidence is limited to Keychron's specs and the V6 review; the V6 Max is the choice if you want wireless.

Overview

The V6 8K is the wired, high-polling update of the full-size V6. Keychron's spec page lists a plastic case with a tray mount and steel plate, Keychron Super hot-swap switches (Red, Brown or Banana), OSA double-shot PBT keycaps, screw-in PCB stabilizers, south-facing RGB, 8000Hz polling over USB-C, a knob, and QMK with the Launcher web app. Keychron lists 1240 g and 140.61 x 447.85 mm, lighter than the older V6's 1350 g.

This entry has weak evidence. No independent review of the V6 8K itself could be opened. Tom's Guide's review of the original V6 is the best guide to the tray-mount body, finding little flex, a well-insulated sound and a heavy board suited to a fixed desk. The V1 8K review covers the 8K platform in a different body. Both are loose guides to this model.

For most office use 1000Hz is enough, so this model is aimed at players who want 8000Hz and a numpad, or buyers who want the newer Super switches.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • 8000Hz polling over wired USB-C, with QMK and the Launcher web app
  • Steel plate and tray mount for a firm feel
  • Full-size 108-key layout with a numpad and knob
  • Hot-swap sockets for Keychron Super or other 3-pin and 5-pin switches
  • Lighter than the original V6 at 1240 g (Keychron's figures)
  • Screw-in PCB stabilizers
What Could Be Better
  • Wired only
  • Heavy: at 1240 g (Keychron's figure) it is a fixed-desk board
  • Little flex from a tray mount with a steel plate
  • No independent review of this model was found
  • 8000Hz benefits are small for typing (Tom's Guide on the V1 8K)
