Wireless 75% with a gasket mount and PC plate
The tri-mode V1: 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, gasket mount, PC plate and Jupiter switches. Reviewers praise value and wireless stability; V Max chatter reports are worth knowing.
A well-reviewed budget wireless 75% that fixes the V1's biggest gaps with a softer mount and tri-mode connectivity. XDA's stabilizer and plastic-shell notes and the 2025 plate-warp reports are the reasons to buy from a recent batch and check the return window. For wired-only use, the V1 or V1 8K make more sense.
The V1 Max takes the V1's 75% layout and makes it wireless. Keychron's spec page lists an ABS plastic case with a gasket mount and a PC plate, Gateron Jupiter hot-swap switches, double-shot OSA PBT keycaps, a programmable knob, 2.4GHz (1000Hz) and Bluetooth 5.1 plus wired USB-C, QMK with the Launcher web app, and a 4000 mAh battery that Keychron rates at up to 190 hours with the backlight off. Keychron lists 770 g assembled; Tom's Guide gives 27.5 oz against 34.2 oz for the wired V1.
XDA Developers called the wireless connection reliable and liked the Jupiter switches for typing and gaming, but found the south-facing RGB dim, the plastic shell a little cheap compared with other Keychron boards, and the spacebar stabilizer unstable enough to occasionally miss a press. SemiPro Tech+Gear called the V1 Max good value: it likes the 2.4GHz option at 1000Hz with both USB-A and USB-C receivers in the box and a flexible gasket-mount feel. It also found the sound slightly hollow and the board lighter than the V1, and suggested swapping the thin bottom foam for a denser silicone pad. SemiPro saw only a small improvement from the Jupiter switches over Keychron's older K Pro switches. Tom's Guide notes that polling over Bluetooth drops to about 90Hz.
The main caution is reliability on Max-series units. TechPowerUp reported in July 2025 that owners of Keychron's Q Max and V Max boards had described double presses and keys not registering, and that Keychron blamed warped switch plates pushing switches out of their sockets, saying production was corrected afterwards. Boards from before that fix may be affected.
