Full-size magnetic Q with a soft clacky sound

A 2.2 kg full-size aluminum Q with Gateron magnetic switches, Rapid Trigger, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth. Digital Chumps liked the build and soft sound but wanted third-party switch support.

Full layout Tri-mode Hot-swap QMK/VIA Knob Hall effect

Our take, based on research

A distinctive full-size Hall effect board with a premium build; its single detailed reviewer liked it but wanted broader switch support.

Overview

The Q6 HE is the full-size Hall effect Q. Keychron lists Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula switches, Rapid Trigger, 0.2 to 3.8 mm actuation, Dynamic Keystrokes, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth with 1000 Hz polling, an aluminum gasket-mounted case with a knob, OSA double-shot PBT keycaps, 2,178 g and a battery rated up to 100 hours. It only accepts the Gateron Double-Rail magnetic switch.

Digital Chumps used it as a daily driver for almost three weeks and found it premium: an all-aluminum body, aluminum plate, a true full-size layout and a textured aluminum knob. The reviewer said foam, latex pad and PET film absorb much of the switch sound, leaving a soft clackiness, noted no fatigue from the smooth Nebula switches, and was a little disappointed that third-party magnetic switches are not supported. Audiophile Heaven, reviewing the Q4 HE, said the stock switch feel is noticeably heavier on that board than on the Q6 HE.

A full-size layout with Rapid Trigger is rare among prebuilts, which is the main reason to look at it.
