Wireless 96% magnetic Q for work and gaming
A 96% aluminum Q with Gateron magnetic switches, Rapid Trigger, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, about 2.2 kg. HLPlanet rated it 9 but found it pricey and limited to Keychron's switches.
A well-built Hall effect 96% that its sole reviewer rated 9, marked down for price, switch lock-in and latency. A researched pick backed by one review.
The Q5 HE brings Hall effect switches to the 96% Q. Keychron lists Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula switches, Rapid Trigger, 0.2 to 3.8 mm actuation, Dynamic Keystrokes, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth with 1000 Hz polling, an aluminum gasket-mounted case with a knob, OSA double-shot PBT keycaps, 2,187 g and a battery rated up to 100 hours. It only takes the Gateron Double-Rail magnetic switch.
HLPlanet rated it 9, praising the versatile 96% layout for both gaming and work, the solid aluminum chassis and durable keycaps, and the customizable actuation with Rapid Trigger and Gamepad Analog. Its cons were price compared with rivals such as the Wooting Two HE, limited compatibility with newer Gateron magnetic switches and slightly higher latency than some top-tier Hall effect boards. The reviewer also described the Nebula switches as smooth and prelubed with 40 g starting and 60 g bottom-out forces.
A number pad with Rapid Trigger is the draw; the trade-off is a locked switch family.
