Bluetooth 65% Q with a flexible polycarbonate plate

A 1.5 kg aluminum 65% with Bluetooth 5.1 for three devices, a PC plate and a knob. Reviewers liked it as a daily driver but it has no 2.4 GHz receiver.

65% layout Tri-mode Hot-swap QMK/VIA Knob

Our take, based on research

A capable Bluetooth 65% that Switch and Click uses as a daily driver while flagging stabilizers, keycaps and sound. The Q2 Max is the step up if you want 2.4 GHz and a better stock feel.

Overview

The Q2 Pro adds Bluetooth to the Q2 and swaps the steel plate for a flexible polycarbonate plate. Keychron lists Bluetooth for up to three devices with 1000 Hz polling when wired, K Pro Red, Brown or Banana switches, KSA double-shot PBT keycaps, a 4000 mAh battery rated up to 300 hours, a knob and 1,489 g. Layouts come in ANSI and ISO.

Switch and Click called it a daily driver: it said the gasket mount gives a cushy, bouncy typing feel and it counts the flexible plate and full wireless as what makes it a 'Pro', though it also said the stabilizers need work, the stock keycaps are not great and the sound is not the best. Wirecutter says the Q2 Pro does not feel as nice to type on as the Q2 Max and lacks a 2.4 GHz connection.

Wireless here means Bluetooth only, so for games a cable is the low-latency route.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • Bluetooth 5.1 for up to three devices plus wired USB-C
  • Flexible plate and a cushy, bouncy gasket feel (Switch and Click)
  • Gasket mount, hot-swap sockets and screw-in stabilizers in an aluminum 65% at 1,489 g
  • Battery rated up to 300 hours (Keychron)
  • ANSI and ISO layouts, knob and QMK/VIA
What Could Be Better
  • No 2.4 GHz receiver; Wirecutter notes this against the Q2 Max
  • Switch and Click found the stabilizers need work and the stock keycaps are not great, and did not rate the sound as the best
  • Wirecutter says it does not feel as nice to type on as the Q2 Max
  • Heavy for a 65%; not a commuter board
