Southpaw 96% Alice Q for left-handed typists

A 2.5 kg 96% Alice-layout aluminum Q with a left-hand numpad, 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and wired modes. Tom's Guide gave it an Editor's Choice; heavy and expensive.

Alice layout Tri-mode Hot-swap QMK/VIA Knob

Our take, based on research

An Editor's Choice for ergonomic comfort and build, with weight and price as the clear downsides.

Overview

The Q14 Max is the southpaw version of the 96% Alice Q, with the number pad on the left. Keychron lists 2.4 GHz at 1000 Hz, Bluetooth and wired USB-C, Gateron Jupiter Red, Brown or Banana switches, a CNC aluminum case with gasket mount and PC plate, KSA double-shot PBT keycaps, a knob, a 4000 mAh battery, 2,450 g and 445 x 157 mm.

Tom's Guide gave the Q14 Max an Editor's Choice award in a review shared with the Q13 Max. The verdict said the Alice layout is a solid piece of machinery that relieves wrist strain while offering a superb typing experience, praised the QMK support, RGB lighting and ambidextrous availability, and flagged heavy weight and high price. Its spec table lists 5.4 lb for the Q14 Max, and says the double-gasket and silicone layers cut metallic pings.

The southpaw layout makes sense for left-handed users or right-handed mouse users who want the numpad out of the way.
