Our take, based on research

A spec-led pick with a niche appeal: Alice ergonomics, 8 kHz wireless and a huge battery rating. Feel notes are inferred from sibling reviews.

Overview

The Q13 Ultra 8K is the Alice 96% model in Keychron's Q Ultra 8K series. Keychron lists 8000 Hz polling and 256 kHz single-key scanning, 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and wired modes, Keychron Silk POM switches in Red, Brown or Banana, a CNC aluminum case with gasket mount and PC plate, KSA double-shot PBT keycaps, a knob, a 4000 mAh battery rated up to 660 hours and 2,440 g. It runs ZMK firmware with the Keychron Launcher.

No review of this exact model turned up. Tom's Hardware's Q6 Ultra 8K review explains the ZMK efficiency behind the 660-hour rating at 8 kHz, but found the switches heavy and not very tactile and the high-profile keycaps small on top. Tom's Guide praised the Q13 Max and Q14 Max Alice boards for comfort but flagged weight and price.

Expect a heavy board with an unusual battery rating rather than a lighter ergonomic option.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • 8000 Hz polling over 2.4 GHz and wired (Keychron)

  • CNC aluminum, gasket mount and PC plate
  • Knob and hot-swap sockets
