TKL layout Tri-mode Hot-swap Low profile

Our take, based on research

The top K1. Check the ZMK firmware first.

Overview

The K1 Ultra 8K is the premium K1. Keychron lists an 80% layout, 2.4 GHz plus Bluetooth plus wired at 8000 Hz, hot-swappable Keychron Milk POM switches (Red, Brown or Banana), an aluminum and wood body with an anodized aluminum plate, LSA double-shot PBT keycaps that are not shine-through, ZMK firmware with the Launcher, a 2600 mAh battery rated up to 490 hours, 628.9 g and N-key rollover wired and wireless.

No review of this model could be opened. Tom's Hardware's K3 Ultra review, on the 75% sibling with the same platform, called it the best low-profile mechanical keyboard on the market, praising the 8 kHz polling, damping and battery, while finding the software online-only and the keycaps average.

Compared with the K1 Max, the Ultra changes firmware (ZMK instead of QMK/VIA), polling and battery capacity.
