Wireless 75% with hot-swap, QMK and a knob in an ABS case

A tri-mode 75% with QMK and Launcher, hot-swap sockets, foam-damped sound and a plastic case. GamepadSquire rated it highly for value; evidence is limited.

75% layout Tri-mode Hot-swap QMK/VIA

Our take, based on research

A well-specified wireless 75% with hot-swap and QMK. Evidence is Keychron's specs and one review, so check the build in person.

Overview

The J2 is a wireless 75% with hot-swap sockets. Keychron's page lists double-shot PBT keycaps, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth for three devices and wired, 1000Hz polling over 2.4GHz and wired, QMK with Launcher, 22 backlight effects, 808 g and a 4000 mAh battery rated at up to 300 hours. GamepadSquire's review praised the multi-layer foam and the sound, the QMK support and the 83 keys with a knob, and noted drawbacks: an ABS case with some cheaper-feeling sections and a slightly hollow spacebar, a tall profile where a wrist rest helps, and no physical Mac and Windows toggle. Keeb-finder compared it with the J5 and J4 and listed three typing angles (4.5, 6.4 and 8.8 degrees), a receiver storage slot and sidelight bars. That site is thin on measurements, so treat these as one reviewer's view.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • Tri-mode connection with QMK and Launcher
  • Multi-layer foam gives a damped sound (GamepadSquire, Keeb-finder)
  • Hot-swap sockets, a knob and three typing angles
  • 4000 mAh battery rated at up to 300 hours (Keychron)
What Could Be Better
  • ABS case with some cheaper-feeling parts and a slightly hollow spacebar (GamepadSquire)
  • Tall profile; wrist rest recommended (GamepadSquire)
  • No physical Mac and Windows toggle (GamepadSquire)
  • Not every version is hot-swap; the GamepadSquire reviewer suggests avoiding the soldered one
