Full-size scissor-switch wireless board, quiet but with accuracy complaints

A 100% wireless keyboard with taller scissor switches, ABS construction and no backlight. Tom's Guide found it quiet and light but struggled with the keycap shape and the missing NKRO.

Full layout Tri-mode

Our take, based on research

A cheap, quiet full-size board with a clear downside in Tom's Guide's review: the keycap shape hurt its accuracy. Try the keys in person if you can.

Overview

The B36 is the full-size version of Keychron's high-profile scissor B line. TechPowerUp reported full-height keycaps close to Cherry profile, 3.5 mm of travel, tri-mode connectivity, Launcher support and flip-out feet at 5, 6.5 and 9 degrees. Keychron's page lists ABS keycaps, an 800 mAh battery rated at up to 320 hours, 650 g and no backlight, and states NKRO is not supported. Tom's Guide called it virtually silent and comfortable thanks to the adjustable angles, and noted 1000Hz polling over 2.4GHz or wired (125Hz on Bluetooth). It was less happy with the result: its accuracy score was poor, which it blamed on the keycap profile, and it said a bigger battery would have allowed a backlight without adding much weight. It also pointed out that without NKRO the board is a poor match for games like Counter-Strike.

Pros & Cons

Strengths
  • Very quiet typing (Tom's Guide)
  • Adjustable angles for comfort and a light body
  • Launcher remapping and 1000Hz over 2.4GHz or wired
  • Dual-OS legends and switch
What Could Be Better
  • Keycap profile led to mistypes and poor accuracy in Tom's Guide's testing
  • No backlight and a small 800 mAh battery (Tom's Guide)
  • No NKRO (Keychron, Tom's Guide)
  • Fixed scissor switches, no hot-swap
